As a locally owned dealership investing in our people and growing our business, we’re looking for a Service Advisor to help strengthen our truck shop and fleet service team. For our commercial and fleet customers, a truck is more than transportation—it’s part of how they earn a living. They need clear answers, dependable communication, and a service team that understands the importance of keeping their vehicles working. In this role, you’ll be the primary point of contact for truck owners, business customers, and fleet managers. You’ll listen to their concerns, coordinate with technicians and parts staff, explain recommended repairs, and keep customers informed from scheduling through vehicle pickup. WHAT YOU’LL DO Schedule truck and fleet service appointments by phone and in person, gathering accurate information about vehicle concerns and maintenance needs. Understand each customer’s vehicle use, business needs, and downtime concerns to help coordinate service priorities. Prepare accurate repair orders and clearly document customer concerns, requested work, and approvals. Work closely with technicians, parts staff, and service management to coordinate diagnosis, estimates, parts availability, and repair progress. Explain needed repairs and recommended maintenance in clear, practical terms so customers can make informed decisions. Obtain customer authorization before proceeding with additional work. Set realistic expectations for cost and completion time, and promptly communicate changes or delays. Keep fleet managers and business owners informed about the status of their vehicles, including multiple vehicles in service. Review completed work and invoices with customers, answer questions, and help plan future maintenance. Maintain complete documentation and follow dealership procedures, applicable requirements, and safety policies. Participate in required training and team meetings. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR High school diploma or GED required. Automotive training or equivalent work experience. At least one year of service advising or related experience in a dealership or large repair facility preferred. Experience with trucks, commercial vehicles, or fleet service strongly preferred. An understanding of automotive repair and maintenance, with the ability to explain technical information clearly. Strong organization and follow-through, including the ability to manage several repair orders and customer updates at once. Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. A professional, dependable approach and the ability to remain composed in a busy shop. The ability to work effectively with customers, technicians, parts staff, vendors, and service management. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn dealership service systems. A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record.
