American Holt serves local producers as well as Fortune 500 companies within the Food and Beverage industry such as Coca-Cola, Anheuser-Busch, Frito-Lay, and Hershey. We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Strategic Buyer to join our growing organization. Do we have your attention? Keep reading. The Senior Buyer is responsible for executing purchasing and supply chain activities to support the American Holt’s operational requirements. This role works as an experienced member of the purchasing team with a focus on sourcing, vendor development, purchasing processes, and supply chain optimization. The Senior Buyer must be able to read blueprints and must have a strong understanding of manufacturing methods, as well as vendor capabilities to effectively evaluate sourcing options and ensure vendor selection best fits business requirements. Are you passionate about this work? Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key vendors. Source and qualify new vendors to proactively manage supply risks, capacity constraints, quality issues, and other potential disruptions. Implement and utilize Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) software functionality. Determine production volumes and place orders to support sale and assembly demand while limiting excess inventory. Assist with identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes, inventory efficiency, supplier performance, and cost control. Monitor supplier performance and proactively address issues related to pricing, quality, delivery, and lead times. Collaborate with Sales, Accounting, Engineering, and other internal teams to align purchasing activities with business and production requirements. Monitor market conditions to identify opportunities for cost savings and identify potential supply issues. Maintain accurate item, supplier, pricing, lead-time, and replenishment data within the ERP/MRP system. Analyze purchasing and inventory data to prepare reports and recommendations for management. Support management with purchasing projects, supplier evaluations, and other departmental initiatives as needed. Serve as a resource by sharing purchasing knowledge, experience, and best practices with the team. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience with NetSuite or Syteline or similar ERP system. Experience utilizing MRP functionality. Proficient in MS Office, with strong skills in Excel. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 What’s in it for you?
