Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for all inbound/outbound related inquiries, expedition requests and issue resolution guidance for Samsung Canada’s internal supply chain divisional staff, and divisional Sales and Marketing leadership, as well as external customers and freight forwarders alike
Monitor all inbound/outbound supply from multiple points of origin and report on any variances to expected weekly receipt rates while providing solutions for stabilization and improvement in all inbound/outbound areas
Liaise with origin and factory points of contact to ensure 100% compliance with customer requirements by each account and product group within the scope of Samsung Canada’s business model
Lead the SOP and related operations specialization to ensure successful inbound/outbound realization across multiple customer receiving points / sku and container mix
Develop specialized track and trace methodologies and reporting outputs as required by each sales division and/or specialized supply chain projects’ requirements
Best practice leadership and SOP implementation concerning reduction and avoidance of related inbound logistics costs (ex. Demurrage, detention, pre-pull, rail charges, drayage and storage items); as well as avoidance/reduction of Vendor compliance Charges as they relate to outbound flow, as dictated by our agreements with various partners
Provide reporting and guidance to each Sales division’s supply chain management team as part of the weekly coordination of goods receipt against forecast, and realization of revenue achievement versus Customers’ Requested Delivery Date / Must Arrive by Date
Provide Customs Clearance tracking, in-stock tracking, and support and liaise / report out to internal and external customers
Review Inbound/Outbound Standard Lead Times and work directly with our internal Logistics company on challenge resolution, opportunities for improvement, and maintenance of on-time / right quantity, while reducing Cost of Poor Quality
Contact external partners, as required, in order to effectively update the internal and external customer base on track and trace results for LTL, FTL, and container/air shipments to our partners
The role will be responsible for providing expertise and direction in the Inbound/Outbound ERP and Freight Forwarder System usage to our internal/external customers, as well, inclusive of training support and workshop / weekly meeting participation
Maintain, as required, the internal system (SAP ERP) orders, customer data, lead time tables, which may include Customer purchase order and Sales order mapping / maintenance; System data related to Customer Routing requirements, TiHi and specialized pallet configuration data by each partner’s specification
Ad-hoc reporting and various duties as required
Skills and Qualifications
Requirements
Education:
Post-secondary education from a recognized college or university required
Membership in good standing with an accredited supply chain / logistics designation or similar is preferred (P. Log., CITT / CCLP or similar)
Knowledge:
Professional working knowledge of Global Freight Forwarding and Inbound Logistics
Well-versed in transportation Law, Incoterms, Importation SOP, Outbound carrier networks and fulfillment cycles in the Canadian market
SAP/ERP competency required
Experience in relatable consumer market and SKU mix in Canada is an asset
Bilingual (French/English) would be considered an asset
Excellent written and oral communication skills
MS Office including intermediate to advanced Excel with emphasis on pivot tables, is required
Data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis experience with demonstrable, verifiable output and report creation is a must
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in logistics
Customer Service Skills
Consumer market familiarity in Canada
The salary range for this role is expected to be between $60,000 to $82,500 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience.
