Senior Estimator - Construction & Restoration
ASAP Automated Solutions and Products Inc.Job Summary CPR Group Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to take ownership of estimating, tendering, scope development and project pricing across our construction and restoration divisions. The successful candidate must be capable of reviewing complex project information, identifying scope gaps, developing accurate quantities and pricing, obtaining subcontractor quotations, and producing complete estimates that protect project profitability and the company's contractual position. Key Responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, engineering reports, tender documents, insurance scopes and contracts. Prepare detailed estimates for residential, commercial, multi-family and insurance restoration projects. Complete material and labour quantity takeoffs and develop detailed scopes of work by trade. Prepare Xactimate estimates and insurance restoration supplements where applicable. Analyze labour, material, equipment and subcontractor costs. Solicit, review and level subcontractor and supplier quotations. Identify missing scope, exclusions, inconsistencies and potential project risks before pricing. Attend site inspections and pre-tender meetings when required. Work with field inspectors to verify measurements, quantities and site conditions. Develop pricing for roofing, siding, stucco, masonry, windows and doors, building-envelope systems, framing, structural repairs, interior restoration and general construction. Understand and price commercial roofing systems including EPDM, TPO, SBS and related assemblies. Prepare tender submissions, proposals, bid breakdowns, pricing schedules, alternates, allowances and unit pricing. Develop change-order and supplemental pricing and review insurance estimates for omitted or underpriced scope. Maintain current labour, material, subcontractor and equipment pricing. Establish project budgets following award and complete detailed estimator-to-project-manager handoffs. Track estimate versus actual project costs and use results to improve future estimating. Monitor expected gross margins and identify pricing risks before estimates are submitted. Assist management with bid/no-bid decisions and project risk assessment. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of construction or restoration estimating experience preferred. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and sequencing. Demonstrated ability to estimate projects independently. Strong understanding of roofing, exteriors, building envelope, structural repairs and general construction. Experience interpreting architectural, structural and engineering drawings. Strong quantity takeoff, cost-analysis and subcontractor bid-leveling abilities. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to manage multiple estimates and tender deadlines simultaneously. We need someone who can receive drawings, specifications, inspection information or an insurance scope and independently determine what needs to be done, what it will cost, what may be missing and what risks CPR Group needs to account for before committing to the work. Accuracy is important, but so is commercial judgment. The successful candidate must understand the difference between simply producing a number and producing a complete, defensible and profitable construction estimate.
