Position Summary: This position serves as the technical expert for issues that arise during the maintenance/repair/operation of various industrial equipment including robots. The engineering services include operations, training, planning, procurement for facilities and capital equipment purchases and installation, research, material selection, certification oversight, design, re¬ engineering, evaluation, inspection, standardization, and safety analysis. This office also provides services to support new procurements, installation and set-up of modern technology such as Advanced Manufacturing (AM) and robotics. Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities: Includes the following: Serve as the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) for facility projects, ensuring compliance with contract terms and technical requirements. Review design submissions and contractor RFIs; maintain accurate technical documentation and project records. Develop drawings, specifications, plans, and cost estimates for facility construction, maintenance, and equipment projects. Collaborate with engineering teams on SOWs for Capital Investment and Military Construction projects. Classify projects as restoration, sustainment, modernization, or new construction to support planning and budgeting. Update plant layouts and provide engineering support for depot facilities, production equipment, and utility systems. Assess system performance and recommend cost-effective facility, equipment, maintenance, and environmental improvements. Research emerging technologies and equipment that support overhaul, repair, and production missions. Prepare purchase descriptions, SOWs, RFPs, cost analyses, reports, and technical papers. Brief stakeholders on project progress, technical findings, and recommendations. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory/management authority Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; 10 years of Maintenance Controls or electrical-related experience may substitute for the degree. At least 10 years of relevant experience. U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship; DOE Q or Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one. Ability to meet DoD 8570 CND-IAT I, II, or III certification requirements within six months of hire; willingness to work shifts and travel up to 30%. Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, customer service, and communication skills; ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
