Senior Director, Operations & Supply Chain
Murdoch Mason Executive Search GroupWe’re conducting a confidential search for a senior operations and supply chain leader with broad experience across outsourced manufacturing, sourcing, supplier management, logistics, and customer fulfillment within consumer products. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has worked in growing organizations and can operate effectively across both strategy and execution. The right person has managed external manufacturing, co-manufacturing, and supply partners; led teams; improved operating processes; and worked cross-functionally to support growth. You should be comfortable moving between supplier conversations, operating issues, team leadership, and longer-term process improvement. This is not a role for someone who has only owned one narrow piece of the supply chain or who is several layers removed from day-to-day execution. What you’ll do Lead key areas of operations and supply chain across external manufacturing, suppliers, logistics, and fulfillment Manage and develop a team while creating clear accountability and operating discipline Strengthen external manufacturing and supplier relationships Improve service, cost, quality, lead times, and operating performance Partner across planning, finance, product, commercial, and other functions Build scalable processes, systems, workflows, and performance measures as the business grows Help evaluate and improve external partners and operating infrastructure Stay close enough to the work to solve problems directly when needed What we’re looking for 10+ years of progressive experience in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, sourcing, or a related field Significant experience in consumer products Direct responsibility for outsourced or third-party manufacturing relationships Broad supply chain experience that extends beyond a single specialty such as planning, procurement, transportation, or warehousing Experience managing third-party logistics and customer fulfillment Direct people-management experience, including coaching, performance management, and developing stronger teams Experience working in a lean, growing, or changing organization where processes and infrastructure still needed to be built Strong operational judgment with the ability to identify problems, create solutions, and drive measurable results Experience working with ERP systems and operational data Experience with process automation, workflow improvement, new product commercialization, or technology-enabled operating improvements is a plus. Location Candidates must currently be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and available for regular in-person work. This is not a remote position. Compensation The expected base salary range is $165,000-$195,000, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus and equity. If the role otherwise looks like a strong fit and your compensation expectations are close, we encourage you to apply. We’re happy to discuss the full compensation package before either side rules out a conversation based on base salary alone. Company details will be shared directly with qualified candidates during the process.
