We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who can work well independently, to fill our Senior Buyer position! Applicant must be a US citizen Role and Responsibilities Support the Production Manager with all procurement-related tasks. The Senior Buyer is in charge of the supervising the process of sourcing and purchasing essential materials for the business operations. Ensure products are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a good price. · Negotiate with vendors and build positive, long-term relationships. · Research new suppliers and make recommendations to senior management. · Work with the Inventory Control Supervisor to plan, monitor, and maintain suitable inventory levels. · Prepare budgets and forecast purchasing trends. · Research and evaluate vendors to compare prices, lead times and services. · Provide pricing and lead times for sales quotes. · Approve all Purchase Orders and Debit Memo’s. · Monitor all Inventory levels at remote locations and process Inventory transactions. · Review and approve all vendor invoices before submitting to the Accounting Department. · Contact vendors to remedy any invoice problems. · Negotiate with vendors to set up scheduled orders to improve pricing strategies. · Review reports on the status of open purchase orders, vendor performance and related topics. · Obtain updates on vendor delivery schedules and follow up on shipping issues. · Communicate projected delivery time frames to the Production Manager for any items relating to production. · Alert the Production Manager of any unforeseen delays in receipt of product. · Update procedures for the department. Qualifications and Education Requirements Associates Degree or higher in Supply Chain management or Business 3-5 years previous purchasing/buyer experience. Analytical and communication skills. Excel in a fast paced and fast growing working environment. Legally able to work in the United States Pass a criminal background check. Preferred Skills Excel Word Basic understanding of cost accounting Knowledge of Inventory transactions Infor/Mapics Results driven and self-motivated Outlook Excellent communication skills. Positive attitude Additional Notes To be successful as a senior buyer, you should be confident, highly organized and an excellent communicator.
