Seasonal Receiving Clerk A unique opportunity to work at a legendary independent bookstore, Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena. The Receiving/Shipping Department is currently seeking two part-time Seasonal Receiving Clerks. This is a non-exempt position with a variable schedule of 24 hours per week. Flexible availability is required, including evenings and weekends, with additional hours as needed. The estimated seasonal timeframe for this position is November through late December 2026. We are looking for a responsible, dependable person who enjoys Vroman's, is self-motivated, and is physically able to lift boxes (at least 50 lbs). The candidate must be a person who can remain focused, pays great attention to detail, and can maintain a fast and accurate pace of work. A valid California driver’s license and a driving record that would be approved by Vroman’s insurance carrier is required. Job Requirements: Hard-working. Self-motivated team player. Willingness to follow instructions & take direction. Good at math skills. Detail-oriented. Ability to maintain accurate records. Experience operating manual pallet jack, dolly, tape gun. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Good communication and organizational skill. Knowledge and experience using imerchant a plus. Comfortable with height of five feet off the ground while working on dock. The work here is highly detailed, fast paced, and often physically demanding. The employee will be required to repetitively walk safely, stand for more than 2 to 3 hours at a time, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, lift, and carry (50lbs min) . Responsibilities include: Receiving outside shipments on loading dock. Receiving stationery and book orders into inventory. Accurately organizing deliveries. Properly accounting for the location of incoming goods. Assuring no damaged items are received. Comparing packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring that the products in each delivery match the packing list. Labeling, sorting, storing, and boxing products. Physical labor (In and out of the warehouse). General clean up. Can complete tasks with minimal supervision. Boxing overstock returns. Validating invoices to accounting systems as needed. Driving the company van to conduct inter-store deliveries if authorized to drive the van. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions including wet, humid, cold, and heat.
