Seasonal Contract / Independent Subcontractor

Overview: Join our team at Capital Windows & Snow Inc. as an Independent Snow Removal Subcontractor for the 2026/2027 winter season! We are seeking reliable, experienced, and fully equipped subcontractors to assist with commercial parking lot snow removal, push-and-pile operations, on-call snow hauling, and parking lot sanding throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas. This seasonal opportunity is ideal for independent operators or established contractors looking to expand their winter workload. Work is weather-dependent, with opportunities for recurring commercial service and additional on-call assignments. Immediate availability is preferred, with contracts beginning as early as October 15, 2026. Duties: Perform commercial parking lot snow removal using skid steers, loaders, tractors, or other suitable equipment. Complete push-and-pile operations within designated parking areas, laneways, and access roads. Provide on-call snow hauling and off-site disposal when requested. Apply sand or other approved traction materials to commercial parking lots and driving areas. Relocate and manage snow piles to maintain safe access and maximize available parking. Respond to snowfall events within agreed service timelines, including early mornings, evenings, overnight hours, and weekends as required. Follow property-specific site maps, designated snow storage areas, and service instructions. Provide service completion updates and photographs when requested. Follow all applicable safety procedures and operate equipment responsibly. Experience & Requirements: Previous experience in commercial snow removal, heavy equipment operation, or related winter maintenance services. Must supply your own equipment suitable for the services offered. Experience operating skid steers, loaders, tractors, sanding equipment, or snow-hauling trucks. Valid driver's licence and applicable equipment qualifications. Commercial liability insurance and active WCB coverage. Reliable transportation, communication, and availability during snowfall events. Ability to work independently and meet agreed service deadlines. Strong attention to detail, safety, and customer property protection. Ability to provide competitive subcontractor pricing. Subcontractors specializing in only one service (push-and-pile, hauling, or sanding) are welcome to apply. Compensation: Competitive subcontractor rates based on equipment, experience, service requirements, and agreed pricing. Hourly, per-visit, and per-application rates may be considered depending on the service.
