Responsibilities Lead and supervise retail sales teams, providing guidance, training, and motivation to meet sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction. Oversee daily store operations including cash handling, POS system management, and cashiering duties to ensure smooth transactions. Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and purchasing activities to maintain optimal product availability. Conduct employee orientation sessions, interviewing prospective staff, and participate in recruiting efforts to build a strong team. Implement scheduling, shift management, and time management strategies to maximize productivity and operational efficiency. Handle customer service inquiries with professionalism using phone etiquette and effective communication skills. Monitor sales performance, manage pricing strategies, and develop sales management initiatives aligned with business goals. Maintain accurate bookkeeping and payroll records while adhering to budgeting guidelines. Ensure compliance with company policies related to safety, cash handling procedures, and operational standards. Foster a positive team environment through leadership in training & development programs and managerial communication. Experience Proven management experience within the retail industry or grocery store environment with a focus on retail sales team management. Demonstrated supervisory experience including shift management, employee training & development, and team leadership. Strong background in inventory management, merchandising, POS systems operation, and operational management. Excellent negotiation skills coupled with bilingual or multilingual abilities preferred for diverse customer interactions. Experience in recruiting, interviewing candidates, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and budgeting is highly desirable. Familiarity with retail math including basic math skills necessary for pricing, stock calculations, and financial reporting. Prior assistant manager or managerial roles that showcase leadership in retail store product knowledge and customer service excellence are advantageous.
