Route Driver

Overview ButterCrumb Bakery is a Family Owned Bread Baking Company. We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Route Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting our bread to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. The start time is 2:00am and the end time varies. Average workday is 8 hours and you must be able to work ANY 5 days out of 7 in the week. This role requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle heavy lifting. Duties Operate delivery vehicles such as box trucks and vans to transport our bread to designated locations. Load and unload products manually and using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts. Ensure all deliveries are made in a timely manner while adhering to safety regulations. Read and understand customer invoices. Verify individual customer bread orders for your daily route. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations. Communicate effectively with office staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Provide excellent customer service. Navigate routes efficiently, utilizing maps or GPS systems as needed. Pick up empty bread trays at customer locations. Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend, pull, lift. Skills Proficient in operating various types of vehicles, including box trucks and vans. Experience with manual transmission vehicles is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo. Strong time management skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping. Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and customers. Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Ability to work in various weather conditions. Ability to maintain a clean driving record.
