What You’ll Do As a Warehouse Forklift Operator, you will select product accurately and efficiently and prepare shipments for our customers. Safety comes first in this role. When business needs call for it, you may be asked to rotate into our freezer area. Loading, Unloading and Order Selection Load and unload trucks safely. Before entering a trailer, confirm it is chocked, the dock lock is engaged and the dock plate is secure. Pull, stage and verify orders against pick tickets so the right product and quantity ship, and report any shortages, overages or damage. Inspect loads before moving them, store product in its proper location, and never block aisles, exits or fire equipment. Support inventory accuracy through scanning, labeling and cycle counts. Safe Forklift Operation Operate equipment only after completing company training and OSHA certification (29 CFR 1910.178). Inspect your equipment before every shift, and tag out and report any defects. Drive safely: control your speed, keep loads low, sound the horn at corners and doorways, and back up when a load blocks your view. Always watch for pedestrians, never exceed the truck’s rated capacity, and never carry riders. Park with forks lowered, brake set and power off, and follow proper battery and propane procedures. Freezer Rotation (As Needed) Rotate into the freezer (as cold as -30°F) when needed, wearing the required cold-weather PPE and taking scheduled warm-up breaks.
