Star NurseryPOSITION Rock Yard Driver POSITION TYPE Part Time /Full Time, Schedule will vary COMPENSATION TBD REPORTS TO General Manager SUPERVISES YES NO ADDITIONAL BENEFITS Heath, Dental, Vison insurance, 401k, supplemental life insurance (Full-time Only) LOCATION TBD CORPORATE: YES NO EXEMPT: YES NO DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES The Rock Yard Driver delivers rock, gravel, sand, soil, and other bulk materials to residential and commercial customers while providing excellent customer service and ensuring materials are safely loaded, transported, and delivered. Load, secure, transport, and unload rock, gravel, sand, soil, and other bulk materials. Deliver materials to customers, job sites, and other Company locations safely and on schedule. Verify orders, delivery paperwork, quantities, and customer information before and during deliveries. Safely operate Company vehicles and delivery equipment. Inspect vehicles and equipment before use and report maintenance or safety concerns. Assist with loading and unloading materials using appropriate equipment and safe work practices. Provide professional customer service and obtain required delivery signatures or documentation. Communicate with store personnel, customers, and management regarding delivery schedules, changes, or issues. Follow Company policies and procedures, including safety, vehicle operation, material handling, and delivery requirements. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and delivery equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS and EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the Company. Previous delivery, driving, construction-materials, landscaping, or related experience preferred. Knowledge of safe vehicle operation, material handling, and delivery procedures. Ability to safely operate delivery equipment after training. QUALIFICATIONS Dependable, responsible, and safety conscious. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to follow directions and complete deliveries accurately and on time. Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules. Ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and management. Reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
