Rigger / Machinery Mover

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Rigger / Machinery Mover to join our heavy asset removal and moving team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely rigging, lifting, and relocating heavy machinery and equipment across various job sites. Your expertise in load handling procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols will ensure that all moves are executed efficiently, securely, and in accordance with OSHA safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment, demonstrate your mechanical knowledge, and contribute to successful completion of exciting projects throughout Metro Detroit. We work 5 days per week, and return home every single night with no out of town projects. Overtime hours are worked within the same 5 day schedule. Starting salary based upon prior job experience and knowledge. Responsibilities Safely rig and secure heavy machinery and materials using appropriate load securing rigging methods Operate large forklifts and other material handling equipment to lift and move various items across multiple types of jobsites Follow established load handling procedures for safe operations to prevent accidents or damage Coordinate with team members to plan all tasks to ensure proper load distribution and other criteria to ensure safe completion of work Adhere strictly to workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards during all work-related activities Assist with warehouse shipping & receiving tasks, including loading/unloading materials and preparing equipment for transport Maintain clear communication with team members throughout each operation to ensure safety and efficiency Qualifications Proven experience in material handling operations, including hilo operation, heavy rigging, and machinery moving Mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, heavy equipment operation, and materials handling systems a plus Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred - experience driving trucks a plus Familiarity with load handling procedures for extremely heavy loads Knowledge of safety equipment usage and implementation of OSHA safety standards within different work environments Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment within warehouse or confined settings Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to safe practices while delivering essential machinery moving services that keeps the Motor City on track! Our specialty is recycling and scrap metal processing, so much of the equipment we handle is end of life items, though our rigging services is far from limited to just hauling out scrap.
