Dress The PopulationOverview Dress the Population is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Returns Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our returns team. In this role, you'll oversee the team responsible for receiving, inspecting, verifying, and documenting returned women's fashion items across our wholesale, dropship, and boutique channels. This position requires strong leadership, hands-on knowledge of fashion inventory, and a commitment to accurate daily records. Because you'll lead and train a bilingual team, fluency in both English and Spanish is essential. Responsibilities 1. Team Leadership Supervise, schedule, and assign daily work to return associates and leads to meet volume and turnaround goals. Train team members on inspection standards, SKU verification, labeling, and storage procedures, in both English and Spanish. Monitor team productivity and accuracy, provide coaching and feedback, and escalate performance issues to management. Enforce safety, organization, and housekeeping standards in the returns area. 2. Returns Processing and Quality Control Oversee the location, identification, and thorough inspection of returned garments throughout inventory. Ensure garments are correctly matched to their corresponding customer listings and orders. Verify that brand, category, size, condition, and listing status are recorded accurately for every item. Assign or confirm SKU numbers, and approve corrections when items are mislabeled. Make condition and disposition calls on returned items (restock, rework, damaged, or return to vendor) according to company standards. Oversee light photography, steaming, folding, packing, and shipping preparation so items are ready to resell. 3. Inventory Accuracy and Documentation Ensure each item's bag, rack, shelf, bin, or storage location is recorded and kept current. Maintain and review logs of items, defects, and the returns inventory tracker for accuracy and completeness. Ensure garments are properly labeled and placed into protective bags. Identify and resolve missing, duplicated, damaged, or incorrectly labeled items. Own the exception list for items requiring research or correction and drive open items to resolution. Conduct regular spot checks and cycle counts of returns inventory. 4. Reporting and Coordination Report daily and weekly returns volume, backlog, defect trends, and team productivity to management. Coordinate with the warehouse, customer service, sales, and merchandising teams on returns issues and recurring defects. Recommend process improvements that increase accuracy and reduce processing time. Qualifications and Experience Required Fluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written 2+ years of experience in retail inventory, returns, stockroom, or warehouse operations, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role Highly organized, dependable, and attentive to detail Comfortable using Excel spreadsheets and entering data accurately Able to follow, teach, and enforce a consistent inventory and labeling process Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience with women's fashion or apparel, including garment quality and condition standards Experience with e-commerce, resale platforms, wholesale, or dropship returns Experience with A2000 or a similar ERP or inventory management system What Success Looks Like A Returns Supervisor who succeeds in this role keeps the returns backlog under control, maintains high accuracy in SKU, condition, and location records, keeps the exception list short and current, and builds a well-trained team that follows a consistent process every day. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on role on the warehouse floor. It requires standing for extended periods, bending, sorting garments, and lifting and moving boxes up to 50 lbs.
