Retail Assistant Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to oversee daily store operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and lead a team toward achieving sales goals. Duties Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures Supervise and motivate staff to ensure high levels of customer service and sales performance Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation Handle POS transactions, cash handling, and cashiering duties accurately and efficiently Implement pricing strategies and promotional activities aligned with marketing plans Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees; conduct employee orientation and training sessions Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks related to store operations Monitor sales performance metrics; develop strategies to meet or exceed sales targets Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and health regulations Coordinate purchasing decisions and manage supplier relationships for inventory procurement Lead team management initiatives including shift management, scheduling, and performance evaluations Engage in marketing efforts to promote store offerings and community engagement initiatives Skills Strong leadership with supervisory experience in retail or similar environments Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS software, and retail math calculations Demonstrated experience in employee recruitment, training & development, and team management Effective organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting Sound knowledge of cash handling procedures, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and budgeting Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze retail data for merchandising decisions; experience with retail marketing is advantageous Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently Organizational skills necessary for stock stocking, inventory control, and store merchandising This position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about retail management and eager to contribute to a thriving store environment.
