Retail Assistant Manager

Duties Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Lead, supervise, and motivate retail staff to deliver outstanding customer service and meet sales targets. Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales opportunities. Conduct recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates, onboarding new employees, and supporting employee orientation programs. Utilize POS systems for sales transactions, returns, and processing payments accurately while maintaining cash register accuracy. Coordinate purchasing activities and manage vendor relationships to ensure product availability and optimal stock levels. Implement training & development initiatives to enhance team skills in sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service excellence. Skills Proven management experience within the retail industry with strong leadership capabilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage managerial communication effectively. Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping practices. Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations and purchasing negotiations. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively. Demonstrated experience in retail math including budgeting, pricing strategies, and sales management. Skilled in supervising staff through interviewing, training & development, scheduling shifts, and performance evaluations. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control, merchandising, and operational procedures. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
