Description of Work
This posting is for a Regional Transportation Officer position that reports directly to the Regional Security Coordinator in the South Central Region Office, which is located in Raeford, North Carolina, Hoke County, but will serve the geographic area of the region as needed to transport offender(s), in departmental vehicles. This position will be on eight hour shifts Mon-Fri with possible call back. Start times will vary depending on transportation trip schedule. Must be flexible and available to work weekends, holidays and possible evenings based on operational needs.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $41,558 - $54,078

The salary grade for this position is NC07. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase May result.
About the Division of Institutions:
The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
About South Central Region:
The South Central Region Office is located in Raeford, North Carolina. The South Central Region includes Albemarle Correctional Institution (CI), Brown Creek CI, Columbus CI, Harnett CI, Lumberton CI, Richmond CI, New Hanover Correctional Center (CC), Pender CI, Robeson Confinement in Response to Violation (CRV) Center, Sampson CI, Sanford CC, Scotland CI, Southern CI, and Tabor CI.
