NOW HIRING: LTL TRUCKING DISPATCHER Join Our Growing Transportation Team! We are looking for an experienced, organized, and motivated LTL Trucking Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and understands the importance of keeping freight moving efficiently and safely. This position plays an important role in coordinating daily transportation operations, supporting our drivers, and ensuring freight is delivered to our customers on time. Responsibilities Negotiate freight rates, secure and schedule loads, and pair the right freight with corresponding driver and equipment, factoring in pickup/delivery windows and appointments and driver hours of service regulations. Coordinate and dispatch daily LTL pickup and delivery operations. Because we are a Less-than-Truckload carrier, we quote, book and schedule a high volume of shipments weekly. Plan and optimize driver routes to maximize efficiency and productivity. Monitor vehicle locations and utilize dispatch/logistics/telematics software’s to route trucks efficiently, reducing dead head miles and fuel costs. Communicate daily schedules, assignments, and route changes to drivers. Serve as the primary contact between drivers, Safety, payroll, billing, etc. to handle all issues in a timely, effective and professional manner. Monitor driver progress and proactively address delays or service issues. Troubleshoot delivery delays, weather emergencies, breakdowns, or service failures and implement quick, effective solutions accordingly. Coordinate customer pickups, deliveries, and special requests. Update logistics software in real time as orders are booked, dispatched, picked up and delivered. Communicate with customers regarding shipment status and delivery expectations. Must be great at proactive communication with customers. Work closely with warehouse personnel, drivers, and management. Work closely with other dispatchers and departments to maintain schedules. Monitor freight movements and ensure accurate shipment documentation. Troubleshoot operational challenges and make real-time dispatch decisions. Maintain compliance with company policies and DOT regulations. Promote a positive, professional, and safety-focused work environment. Qualifications Previous trucking dispatch or transportation experience preferred. Knowledge of LTL freight operations is strongly preferred. Experience with refrigerated transportation is a plus. Strong geographical knowledge and route-planning abilities. This position will handle all freight coming from the PNW to northern California as well as all freight coming out of Northern California back to the PNW. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills and ability to learn transportation management systems. Must be able to handle a large volume of e-mails and data entry daily. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
