Reefer Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Reefer Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating refrigerated tractor-trailers to transport temperature-sensitive freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, navigating using GPS systems, and adhering to all safety and regulatory standards will ensure timely and secure deliveries. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated trailers to transport freight over long distances, including OTR routes. Use GPS navigation tools to plan and follow optimal routes, ensuring timely deliveries while complying with all traffic laws and regulations. Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo handling for sensitive or hazardous goods. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and cargo details in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including refrigeration units, to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met. Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with refrigerated trailers or similar equipment. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for logistics cargo handling. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations. Experience with load & unload procedures, truck loading and unloading, and manual handling techniques. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely. Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially involving freight that requires temperature control or special handling.
