Job Summary We are seeking a Receiving Specialist to be responsible for receiving, inspecting, unloading, verifying, and processing incoming shipments to ensure all products are accurately accounted for and stored in the appropriate locations. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety. The Receiving Specialist must be forklift certified and capable of safely operating material-handling equipment to move products throughout the warehouse. Key Responsibilities Receive and unload incoming shipments using a forklift and other approved material-handling equipment. Verify incoming products against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation. Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, overages, and discrepancies; effectively report issues. Accurately enter receipts, quantities, and product information into the warehouse management system. Apply labels, identify products, and ensure all materials are properly documented and traceable. Transport received materials to designated storage areas and ensure products are stored safely and efficiently. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation as needed. Communicate with purchasing, inventory control, production, and other departments regarding incoming shipments and receiving discrepancies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock and warehouse environment. Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and material-handling guidelines. Assist with general warehouse duties and other related tasks as assigned. Qualifications Valid forklift certification is required. Candidates must be certified to operate the applicable forklift equipment or meet company requirements for verification and authorization before operating it. Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or material handling preferred. Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, shipping labels, and related documentation. Basic computer skills and the ability to enter accurate information into warehouse systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when counting, inspecting, and recording materials. Ability to safely operate a forklift and move materials in accordance with established safety procedures. Ability to identify shipment discrepancies and communicate issues promptly. Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills. Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
