Purchasing Specialist
GLEN MOTORSGlen Motors is seeking a motivated, flexible and responsible Purchasing Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for reviewing vehicle requirements, sourcing suitable vehicles, comparing prices and coordinating with dealerships before presenting purchasing opportunities for management approval. The ideal candidate has previous purchasing experience, strong English communications skills and the ability to work independently. Any purchasing experience is valued, but preferably in automobiles, ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles) and/or UTVs (Utility Task Vehicles). Key Responsibilities ⇒ Vehicle Requirements and Sourcing Review and clarify vehicle requirements and needs. Search for vehicles that meet the required model, specifications, budget and timeline. Confirm vehicle availability, price and revelation production or delivery timelines Identify suitable purchasing opportunities for management review and approval. ⇒ Price Comparison and Negotiation Compare vehicle prices, availability, specifications, and purchasing terms. Negotiate pricing and terms within company guidelines and specific needs. Present suitable vehicle options and relevant information to management. Obtain management approval before conforming a purchase or financial commitment. Report pricing changes, availability issues, discrepancies or any other issues promptly. ⇒ Dealership Coordination and Purchase Tracking Communicate with dealership sales representatives, managers and/or owners. Develop and maintain professional dealership relationships. Coordinate approved vehicle orders, deposits, and payment arrangements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records. Transfer approved vehicle and purchase information to the corresponding department. Assist with other purchasing-related duties as assigned by the Manager. Performance Expectations Source suitable vehicles within required timelines. Compare pricing and purchasing terms accurately. Provide management with complete information for purchase approval. Negotiate professionally and effectively within the purchasing guidelines. Maintain accurate and up-to-date order and deposit information. Communicate promptly and effectively with dealerships, management, colleagues and other departments. Respond effectively to changing requirements and time-sensitive opportunities. Work independently, take initiative and remain accountable. Hand company and dealership information professionally and confidentially. Required Qualifications & Skills REQUIRED: Any type of previous purchasing experience. Preferably in the automotive, ATV or UTV industry. Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Strong organization and time-management skills. Responsible, flexible and adaptable. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive opportunities. Valid Ontario G driver’s licence.
