Purchasing Specialist
Amerhart, LTDAmerhart, an SBP Brand is currently looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join our VALUES based organization. This role will be supporting purchasing efforts in our Sheboygan Falls Location to issue Purchase Orders (PO), match POs to vendor acknowledgements, proof PO to acknowledgement and make corrections to PO along with completing scheduling tasks for manufacturing. The position will report to Shipping and Receiving Manager for a market-leading vertically integrated panel processor and contract wood product manufacturer in the Central Industrial Region. Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Focus daily on reporting and improving internal scheduling, inventory, and supply chain issues to include receipt, transfer and reman of product. Areas of responsibility include scheduling, forecasting, inventory control accuracy, and purchasing. This position will focus on optimizing the scheduling process for improved material flow and overall customer satisfaction. Analyze products, specifications, ordering trends, etc. to optimize inventory levels maintained at local manufacturing and distribution center. Communicate and work closely with the Branch Management Team, Sales Representatives (Inside and Outside), Central Buyers and customers to ensure scheduled production meets needs of branch. Required to maintain the accuracy of the local branch center’s inventory system through AP reconciliation and open PO lists Negotiate quality, pricing and delivery of raw materials with network of suppliers and Central Buyers. Technology capacity Required cognitive and psychological characteristics: Able to demonstrate exceptional analytical skills with ability and knowledge to develop and utilize spreadsheets. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Must be a self-starter who takes initiative. Must have a working knowledge of MS Office; Knowledge and experience with Agility software desirable. Must be able to prioritize multiple requests from various departments within the organization. Must have strong organizational and project management skills Must be able to develop and manage supplier relationships. Must be able to identify cost reduction opportunities. Must be able to recommend and implement process improvements. Education and Experience: High School diploma or HS GED required. An associate's degree in supply chain management preferred. 3-5 years inventory control experience and/or planning in manufacturing industry. Hands on expertise in planning, scheduling, shipping, receiving, capacity planning, inventory control, and purchasing in an ERP environment required. Computer knowledge including a good understanding of Microsoft Office products.
