ConfidentialPurchasing Manager Job Overview We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities and support sourcing and supply chain operations for our manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing the purchasing process, maintaining supplier relationships, supporting cost management, and ensuring the timely availability of materials required for production. The successful candidate will use ERP and procurement systems, including SAP or similar platforms, to manage purchasing activities, monitor inventory, coordinate with internal teams, and maintain accurate procurement records. Responsibilities Develop and implement sourcing strategies based on production requirements, quality standards, availability, and cost considerations. Manage supplier relationships through regular communication, performance reviews, negotiations, and issue resolution. Use SAP, ERP, MRP, and other procurement systems to process purchase orders, monitor inventory, and maintain accurate purchasing records. Work with production, logistics, finance, and other departments to forecast material requirements and coordinate procurement activities. Research suppliers and market conditions to identify sourcing opportunities, pricing trends, and potential cost-saving measures. Manage the procurement cycle from requisition and approval through purchase order issuance, delivery tracking, and invoice reconciliation. Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, pricing, and service, and address issues as needed. Maintain appropriate purchasing documentation and support compliance with company procurement procedures. Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, supplier performance, inventory management, and supply reliability. Support production continuity by coordinating material availability and addressing potential supply issues in a timely manner. Qualifications and Skills Experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management. Experience using SAP, ERP, MRP, or similar procurement and supply chain systems. Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred. Knowledge of material requirements planning, inventory control, logistics coordination, and demand forecasting. Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing and purchasing terms. Knowledge of sourcing strategies, procurement processes, and supplier evaluation practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review pricing, supplier, inventory, and market data. Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with internal departments and external suppliers. Ability to prioritize multiple purchasing activities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records. Position Expectations The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for supporting efficient procurement operations, maintaining reliable supplier relationships, and ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements. The role requires sound judgment, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work within established purchasing and supply chain procedures.
