We take pride in delivering high-quality communication solutions safely while maintaining exceptional customer service and long-term client relationships. ** We are currently seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to join our team in Calgary** The Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing the company's purchasing and inventory functions to ensure equipment, materials, and supplies are sourced, purchased, received, tracked, and reconciled accurately and efficiently. This role develops strong vendor relationships, sources products and services, negotiates pricing and payment terms, processes purchase orders, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports capital expenditure tracking. Working closely with Accounting and Operations, the successful candidate helps ensure inventory integrity, cost control, and timely procurement to support business operations. These responsibilities are currently shared across departments, and you will help bring the day-to-day work together in one dedicated role. Training on our equipment, systems, and processes will be provided, with support from the team as you learn What You Will Do Purchasing Support Request supplier quotes and gather pricing, availability, and delivery information for the team to review. Prepare purchase orders and place approved orders, following company purchasing and approval procedures. Track outstanding orders, follow up with suppliers, and keep the team informed of delays. Help follow up on shortages, damaged goods, returns, and pricing or invoice discrepancies, with support when needed. Keep quotes, purchase orders, packing slips, and related records organized. Inventory & Receiving Receive and check incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. Enter new equipment and update inventory and asset records accurately and promptly. Check stock levels and flag items that may need to be reordered. Assist with regular inventory checks and annual physical counts. Help investigate inventory differences and provide supporting records to Accounting and Operations. Administration & Budget Support Gather quotes and prepare simple cost comparisons for department managers and annual equipment budget planning. Update tracking sheets for approved equipment purchases and actual costs. Prepare basic purchasing and inventory reports and maintain supporting documentation. Work with other departments to confirm purchasing needs and priorities. Share practical suggestions to help improve existing purchasing and inventory routines. Skills & Qualifications Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. Ability to prioritize daily tasks, meet deadlines, and follow through on outstanding orders and requests. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including email and basic Excel spreadsheets, and the ability to learn new software. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal departments. Ability to work independently on routine tasks, seek clarification when needed, and adapt to changing priorities. One to two years of related experience in purchasing support, inventory control, shipping and receiving, or administration involving orders and inventory records. Some post-secondary education or training in business administration, supply chain, logistics, accounting, or a related area. A certificate, diploma, or relevant coursework is suitable.
