Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Purchasing Director to lead our procurement operations and drive excellence in supply chain management. Duties Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, emphasizing cost efficiency and quality assurance. Lead vendor selection, evaluation, and management processes, fostering strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains. Negotiate purchasing contracts, pricing agreements, and service level agreements to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks. Oversee the use of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, and automated procurement platforms to streamline purchasing workflows. Manage inventory levels through effective inventory management systems, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing excess or shortages. Monitor supply chain activities including logistics, transportation, and distribution to guarantee timely delivery of goods. Supervise procurement team members, providing guidance on procurement best practices, contract management, and system utilization. Conduct data analysis using Excel and other tools to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and contractual obligations across all purchasing activities. Lead continuous improvement initiatives by integrating new technologies such as automated procurement systems and supply chain management tools. Experience Proven experience in procurement management or supply chain leadership roles within a fast-paced environment. Extensive knowledge of ERP systems like SAP, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms used for procurement and inventory control. Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts with vendors and managing vendor relationships effectively. Strong background in sourcing strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiation techniques. Experience leading teams in a procurement or purchasing department with a focus on team development and leadership. Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics operations to optimize supply chain performance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel data analysis for reporting and decision-making purposes. Ability to develop innovative sourcing solutions that align with organizational objectives while managing risks associated with supply chain disruptions.
