Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our dynamic procurement team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the purchasing process, ensuring that materials and supplies are acquired efficiently and effectively. This position is perfect for someone looking to grow their career in supply chain management and procurement. Duties Work within our S4/Hana ERP system to produce, confirm, and maintain purchase requisitions and purchase orders, as well as purchasing and costing data. Work with vendors, freight companies, and internal operational groups to ensure that all goods and services purchased arrive in a timely manner at the proper cost to meet production schedules. Work with quality and production departments on quality issues with vendors, including vendor returns. Source vendors, obtain quotes, and negotiate costs/pricing on MRO and similar types of inventory items. Work with Purchasing Manager and other internal departments on product related projects and initiatives. Work with Purchasing Manager to monitor supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved service. Maintain strong relationships with vendors while ensuring compliance with company policies. Experience A background in purchasing or supply chain management is preferred but not required. Familiarity with inventory management systems such as SAP is a plus. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess pricing strategies and market conditions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and suppliers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a keen attention to detail.
