Purchasing Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic procurement team. This an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in materials management, sourcing, and supply chain operations within a fast-paced environment. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will support the procurement process by assisting with purchase order creation, supplier communication, and inventory control, all while developing your understanding of ERP system. This role is ideal for individuals eager to build a career in procurement, logistics, and supply chain management. Responsibilities Assist in processing purchase orders and maintaining accurate procurement records using ERP systems Support supplier sourcing activities by gathering quotes, comparing pricing, and helping negotiate terms to optimize costs Collaborate with inventory management teams to monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control efforts Contribute to logistics coordination by tracking shipments, managing delivery schedules, and updating relevant documentation Help with contract administration and review of procurement agreements to ensure compliance with company policies Participate in production planning and merchandising activities by providing procurement insights and supporting supply chain initiatives Maintain organized records of procurement transactions, contracts, and supply chain documentation for audit readiness Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field Basic understanding of materials management, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), inventory management, and procurement processes Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and build supplier relationships Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently Knowledge of e-commerce platforms, contracts management, logistics coordination, pricing strategies, production planning, and merchandising is a plus Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-moving environment Pay: From $18.00 per hour Work Location: In person
