Purchasing and Inventory Manager

Job Overview As a Purchasing and Inventory Manager, you’ll keep materials moving and inventory aligned with production needs. You’ll lead purchasing, inventory control, and logistics activities, using data and cross-functional communication to support reliable operations. Your impact: By coordinating demand planning, procurement, and production schedules, you help manufacturing teams access the materials they need and support timely delivery to customers. Responsibilities Manage purchasing, procurement, supplier relationships, and materials management. Oversee inventory management and control, warehouse coordination, and logistics inventory management. Use demand planning and material requirements planning (MRP) to align supply with production planning and scheduling. Monitor inventory data and spreadsheets; identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities to improve processes. Partner across manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics teams to resolve material issues and support lean manufacturing practices. Skills Experience in purchasing, inventory management, supplier management, and supply chain management; manufacturing company experience is preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; SAP and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) experience are relevant. Knowledge of MRP, production planning, production scheduling, materials management, and logistics. Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheets. Strong cross-functional communication skills; warehouse experience and familiarity with lean manufacturing are helpful.
