Purchasing and Inventory Control Coordinator
Bartek Ingredients Inc.Job Summary We are seeking motivated and dedicated Purchasing and Inventory Control Coordinator to join our dynamic team! Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Purchasing and Inventory Control Coordinator plan and perform work that involves receiving, inspecting, shelving, packing, labeling, delivering, and maintaining a perpetual inventory of parts, office/janitorial supplies, and various types of equipment. Additionally, the Purchasing and Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for purchasing in the maleic plant. Position Description: Receive and store parts, tools, raw materials and supplies. Ensures all department packages are delivered and recorded to the appropriate recipient. Assure proper stock levels. Compile parts and materials in stock rooms. Enter receipt of incoming and outgoing part quantities into computer software. Process requisition of parts and materials needed by all personnel. Physical control over the release of parts and material to all personnel. Perform periodic physical counts of inventory parts and materials in the warehouse. Maintains products and parts organized as per inventory location maps. Must understand and follow layouts and maps. Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures. Inspect the levels of mechanical, electrical and production supplies and raw material to identify shortages of critical parts Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand of departments Use ERP software to monitor inventory characteristics and stock levels. Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus. Finalize details of orders and deliveries in conjunction with department needs. Analyze data to anticipate future needs. Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships. Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure organization of inventory system. Report to management on inventory issues and devise strategies for efficient sourcing. Working with the Supply Chain Team to discover the most reliable and profitable suppliers and establish new business relationships when possible. Working with the Supply Chain Team to negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms as well as examine and re-evaluate existing contracts. Finalize details of orders and deliveries in conjunction with department needs. Must understand and follow layouts and maps. Prepare necessary reports. Occasional travel by motor vehicle within the region as required. Abilities & Requirements: Minimum three years (3) working in an inventory/stores or similar position. Minimum 1 year working in purchasing or a similar position. Working knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods. Excellent knowledge of inventory management software. Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports. An analytical mind with strong attention to detail. Outstanding organizational and planning skills. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities. Strong negotiation skills. Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of following-up with relevant stakeholders. Relevant qualifications (APICS or CPIM) are considered an asset. Ability to act in accordance with Standard Procedures supporting company-wide operational, service and safety guidelines.
