Position Summary: Seeking a Junior Buyer to support the procurement team by assisting in purchasing, supplier relationships, and supporting the Purchasing Agent and Senior Buyer. This position is a temporary position with full-time hours, possible opportunity to move to permanent full time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in purchasing RFQs and procurement actions in support of MARAD RRF program. Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and team. Collaborate with Purchasing Manager and Procurement team to guarantee cost-effective purchasing that is compliant with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Monitors shipments to ensure that items come in on time, and in the event of problems, track shipments and follow-up on undelivered items. Maintain receiving documentation in accordance with FAR requirements. Reconcile invoices from vendors and coordinate with accounting for invoice payments. Assist in the review of team expenses for compliance with travel policies. Track timeliness and delinquency of expenses not submitted by the team. Assist in any travel and expense report questions. Coordinate timely submission of travel requests and ensure travel arrangements are made for the team. Maintain and update assigned purchasing reports, including the recurring Weekly Purchasing Report and SDSR Report. Research and correct routine discrepancies, maintain accurate supporting documentation, and escalate material, recurring, compliance-related, or audit-significant issues to the Purchasing Agent or Purchasing Manager. Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required: A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing and administrative duties. Computer proficiency in MS Office business applications, with intermediate-level ability in MS EXCEL. Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Knowledge of ABS Nautical System Enterprise (NSE), Costpoint/Deltek and ADP software is a plus. Physical and Environmental Requirements: Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions.
