Purchasing Agent

Purchasing Agent Local contracting company is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full‐time position. Job description: We are looking for a capable purchasing agent to assist in our company’s overall purchasing lifecycle. This qualified individual will price out jobs beginning at the initial bidding phase all the way through the job’s completion by assisting with closeouts. Additional duties expected, but not limited to, as follows: - Pricing bids – we work with multiple methods to get bid cost to the Project Managers. - Manage orders from start to finish – including finding alternate products/suppliers, managing backorders, and verifying returns. - Manage workflow – from original entry errors to over ships, reorders, or alternate products sent. - Job closeouts – line by line verification of all invoices to determine all purchased items and/or credits are listed. - Managing buyout cost – Ensuring that we’re receiving the best price possible for the lead time required. Requires negotiation and working knowledge of current material costs. - Sourcing material – a lot of our material is standard between a few vendors but we’re taking on jobs with more specialty items which require more time spent sourcing. - Data Entry (COINS Operating System). - Must possess great attention to detail. - Must have great interpersonal skills. All work performed is face to face, via telephone or through email. Prior experience in purchasing is preferred!
