Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Purchasing Agent for their Purchasing Department. The right candidate will source, negotiate, and contract all house line subcontracts for assigned lots/communities for the division. The Purchasing Agent evaluates price, quality, availability and reliability when choosing materials and subcontractors to construct homes. Responsible for negotiating price and determining the availability of materials and negotiating contracts to secure reliable subcontractors. Salary Range : $60,000-$70,000, based on experience. This position is bonus eligible. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Solicit multiple bids for every category needed to build homes in assigned communities Evaluate quality of subcontractors in terms of quality, schedule adherence, and pricing Setup, compare, and monitor option costs and sales prices Maintain and update current budgets Spread revised bids and obtain approval for any price increases Prepare direct costs analysis and variances for review Input original Direct Costs budget Execute lot starts and final proof all unit costs Qualifications Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
