Purchaser for Food and Sushi Group (Japanese/Korean Speaking)

Love Food? Love Sushi? Love People? Welcome Home! We are the largest sushi and fresh fish provider in the world! We're looking for the right person to join our purchasing team. Korean/Japanese speaking preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Communicates on a regular basis under the direction of sales and purchasing manager to achieve sales goals 2. Communicates to vendors base on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfaction and meet sales/profit goals. 3. React timely to customer problems and needs. 4. Taking customer orders with goals in mind: sales and Gross Profit $ maximization. 5. Follows up on new vendors with introduction materials and visitation including completed credit application. 6. Cooperates with team members. Works with department supervisors to reduce mistakes. 7. Review daily out of stocks, shortages, transportations issues and implement solutions quickly. 8. Attends periodic training to improve sales skills and knowledge, attends regular sales meetings. 9. Participate and coordinate communication between customer and A/R dept. 10. Follows Food Safety (HACCP) requirements to ensure product safety and quality. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY Most important decisions made fully independently: Approach to building relationships with customers/stakeholders. Time and customer management. Customer pricing. (Within pricing guidelines) Self-motivation. Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors (include the reviews/approvals required): Inventory Management Authorizing credits and returns. Minimum Qualifications Prior Experience: 1 year food industry experienced in sales, purchasing or restaurant experience. Education or Training: High School diploma Licenses, Certifications: Clean driving record, Food Safety Training. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of all product lines. Consultative sales ability. Must be self –motivated and accountable for time management without constant supervisor direction. Exhibit strong customer relations skills and a sense of urgency in meeting customer needs. Skill in use of an office computer and record keeping. Familiar with navigating SAGE X3. Ability to communicate in a professional manner with outside parties, management and employees on the team Physical demands of the work Must be able to walk, lift objects up to 30lbs, sit at a desk, climb and handle equipment Must be a safe driver. Hands free communication while driving Work Environmental Conditions Most of the time is spent in office environment. Other time is spent on floor, freezer, and refrigerated areas.
