In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional delivery of propane to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers while also performing propane system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, service work, and propane cylinder filling operations. Deliver propane to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Maintain delivery records and route documentation. Install propane tanks, regulators, gas piping, and related equipment. Perform leak checks, pressure tests, and system startups. Diagnose and repair propane-related equipment and appliances. Respond to service and emergency calls as needed. Safely fill portable propane cylinders according to regulations and company procedures. Inspect cylinders for certification, condition, damage, and serviceability prior to filling. Accurately determine fill levels using approved weighing and filling methods. Operate propane dispensing equipment, pumps, and scales safely. Perform leak checks before returning cylinders to customers. Maintain cylinder inventory and exchange programs. Ensure proper storage of filled and empty cylinders. Requirements/Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Class B CDL with hazmat, airbrake, and tanker endorsements. Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug test, and homeland security background check. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of propane cylinder inspection and filling procedures or ability to obtain training. Performance Expectations Maintain an excellent safety record. Provide exceptional customer service. Ensure compliance with all propane safety regulations. Perform cylinder filling operations without safety violations. On-Call and Emergency Response Requirements Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday customer support and emergency response services. Respond to propane system emergencies, gas leaks, service interruptions, and urgent customer needs within established company response times. Be available by phone and capable of responding to service calls while assigned on-call status. Maintain a level of fitness and readiness necessary to safely perform emergency service work outside of normal business hours. Work extended hours during peak heating season, severe weather events, supply disruptions, or other operational emergencies. Accurately document all after-hours service calls, repairs, inspections, and customer interactions. Coordinate with management, dispatch personnel, and emergency responders when necessary. Demonstrate sound judgment and adherence to all safety procedures during emergency situations. Success Factors Good interpersonal skills and willingness to take directions from Operations Manager and Team Lead. Positive enthusiastic attitude toward safety, customer service, employee teamwork, and sales. Self-motivated for high performance and efficiency in problem solving, analytical skills, and working independently. Working Conditions Delivering and servicing propane customers in all weather conditions. Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed in high peak season. In addition, special projects are often performed in the non-peak season that requires performing tasks outside of the normal functions.
