Production Supervisor/ Manager Modular Closets 700 Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284 Salary Pay: $72,000 to $92,000 annually, based on experience Work Location: In person Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Fridays off unless there is a special request to work overtime. Position Overview The Production Manager / Supervisor oversees all manufacturing operations for Modular Closets, ensuring that CNC cutting, edge-banding, drilling, assembly, and staging processes run efficiently, accurately, and on schedule. This role is responsible for managing production staff, maintaining workflow continuity, enforcing quality standards, and coordinating closely with the Pipeline, Warehouse, and Shipping teams. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and experienced in cabinetry or modular furniture production. Leadership Approach Lead from the production floor with clear expectations, consistent follow-through, and respect for employees. Take ownership of results, build trust across departments, and balance attention to detail with safety, quality, productivity, and customer commitments. Key Responsibilities Oversee CNC machining, edge-banding, drilling, assembly, finishing, and staging to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production goals safely, on time, in full, and at target productivity levels. Plan production and staffing schedules, allocate labor, materials, and equipment, and resolve bottlenecks and shortages before they affect customer commitments. Supervise and develop production employees, including supervisors, line leads, machine operators, and assemblers. Train staff on equipment, safety, and production standards; evaluate performance and address concerns promptly and fairly. Enforce OSHA and company safety requirements throughout production and warehouse operations. Model safe practices, correct unsafe conditions and behaviors, and maintain clean, organized work areas. Ensure products meet drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Spot-check parts, assemblies, and finished goods, and work with QC and Pipeline teams to resolve defects and reduce scrap and rework. Partner with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment, minimize downtime, and improve reliability. Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, and calibration for CNCs, edge-banders, drills, and saws. Improve workflow, throughput, and labor efficiency through standard operating procedures and employee input. Support automation, equipment upgrades, and manufacturing innovations. Work with Engineering and Design to improve manufacturability and ensure tools and workstations support efficient production. Coordinate priorities and order handoffs with Pipeline, Warehouse, Shipping, and Leadership, communicating status, delays, and challenges proactively. Track throughput, scrap rates, labor efficiency, and on-time production. Prepare daily and weekly reports and use performance data to improve operations, customer satisfaction, and readiness for company growth. Qualifications 3–5+ years of production or manufacturing management experience. Strong knowledge of CNC operations, woodworking machinery, and assembly processes, with the ability to read technical drawings and production schematics. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and production scheduling tools. Proven skills in production and workforce planning, resource allocation, employee development, performance management, and safety leadership. Strong communication, organization, time management, and prioritization skills, with experience in quality management, process improvement, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.
