Winpak Division is seeking a Production Planner to join our Production Control team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Reporting to the Supervisor, Production and Inventory Control, this role is responsible for developing and managing weekly production schedules and evaluating future demand and supply requirements to ensure optimal utilization of plant capacity.

The Production Planner will plan sales orders and release work orders in a timely and structured manner to support smooth operations across all work centres. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient production flow, minimizing disruptions, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction in alignment with Winpak standards.

Current Winpak employees who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan custom orders, and work towards achieving a completion date that meets our internal and external customer expectations.
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurate, indicate what materials are to be used, what materials are to be produced, and clearly note any necessary special instructions required.
  • Allocate demand to the appropriate work centers to ensure that we achieve optimum efficiency, lead-time and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to ensure that we continually look at methods to reduce aged inventory and increase our inventory turn ratio.
  • Pinpoint bottleneck resources and adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Sequence the week’s workload in a fashion that maximizes productivity, efficiency, and work centre utilization.
  • Monitor and maintain daily schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Address inquiries pertaining to production control issues from the Marketing and Technical Departments.
  • Respond to inquiries in keeping with Winpak's Total Quality Program.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. 
    • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a basic understanding of the scheduling process. 
    • 1+ years of computer experience with Word and Excel.  
    • Ability to work onsite full time

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Post-secondary education and/or CPIM/APICS are an asset.
    • 1+ years of experience with manufacturing, inventory, and scheduling.
    • 1+ years of experience demonstrating strong communication (both verbal and written), and organizational skills.
    • 1+ years of experience working in a role that had tight deadlines, and required a high level of time management and organization

    • This is a 100% on-site position based at 100 Saulteaux Crescent, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3T3, Canada.
