Production Manager

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring Production Manager to join our Bethune, SC team and lead manufacturing operations while helping shape the future of our business through operational excellence and people development. What You'll Do As a key member of our Operations Leadership Team, you will oversee production activities, lead a team of team leaders and operators, and ensure our manufacturing processes deliver world-class performance in safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include: Leading daily manufacturing operations while ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing work environment Managing and developing Production Team Leaders, Operators, Trainers, and other production resources Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, minimizing waste, increasing productivity, and improving overall equipment effectiveness Collaborating closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Process, and R&D teams to optimize plant performance Planning production schedules, staffing, and resource allocation to meet customer demand while maximizing operational efficiency Monitoring key performance indicators related to safety, quality, productivity, costs, and delivery Supporting capital projects, process optimization, and new product introductions Developing and coaching employees through performance management, training, cross-training, and succession planning Promoting a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all safety policies, Life Saving Rules, and regulatory requirements Championing operational excellence while fostering teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement What We're Looking For We are looking for a leader who combines strong manufacturing expertise with excellent people leadership and a passion for continuous improvement. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of production processes, quality systems, maintenance coordination, and operational planning Experience leading large production teams in a fast-paced industrial environment Knowledge of budgeting, cost management, productivity improvement, and performance metrics Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas Experience within the nonwovens industry is highly preferred 10+ years of manufacturing experience is preferred Why Join Suominen?
