Produce Manager

Responsibilities Lead and supervise the produce department team, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing work environment Manage inventory levels through effective purchasing, stock rotation, and stock replenishment to minimize waste and maximize sales Ensure all produce items meet quality standards by inspecting deliveries, monitoring freshness, and maintaining proper storage procedures Implement merchandising strategies to create attractive displays that enhance product visibility and drive sales Oversee daily store operations including cash handling, POS system management, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards Collaborate with suppliers during purchasing negotiations to secure the best prices and product quality Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory control, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and budget adherence Skills Proven management experience within retail or grocery environments, particularly in produce or perishables departments Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members effectively Excellent communication skills for training staff, managing customer interactions, and coordinating with vendors Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping practices Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail in stock control and merchandising Ability to perform basic math calculations related to pricing, sales analysis, and inventory tracking Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively Experience in negotiating with suppliers and managing purchasing processes Knowledge of retail industry sales techniques and customer service excellence principles Familiarity with operational management tasks such as shift scheduling, cash handling, and safety protocols Join our team as a Produce Manager where your leadership will make a tangible impact on our store’s success!
