Bentley Mission Critical Location: Denver Metro, Colorado Reports To: VP of Supply Chain Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt Travel: Between sites and to key suppliers as needed **No recruiters** Position Summary Bentley Mission Critical is seeking an experienced Director of Procurement to lead sourcing and procurement for Bentley Mission Critical and Coyote Tanks. This position is responsible for direct materials, indirect goods and services, supplier relationships, and commercial agreements that support manufacturing and customer delivery commitments. Candidates must bring extensive, proven experience leading sourcing, negotiating supplier agreements, and resolving complex supply issues in manufacturing, with the ability to take ownership and deliver results from day one. The objective is simple: Manufacturing should have the materials and equipment it needs, at the required quality and agreed cost, when production needs them. This individual must look beyond whether a purchase order has been issued. The Director of Procurement must verify supplier capability, establish clear commitments, and address supply risks before they affect production. This is a hands-on leadership position. The Director will lead the BMC direct and indirect sourcing managers and the Coyote Tanks direct/indirect sourcing specialist while remaining directly involved in critical negotiations, supplier issues, and supply recovery. Primary Responsibilities The Director of Procurement will own sourcing strategy, supplier accountability, and procurement execution. Responsibilities include: Lead direct and indirect sourcing aligned with production demand and business priorities. Develop and execute steel sourcing strategies that meet material specifications, fabrication requirements, production schedules, and total-cost objectives. Secure supplier capacity and manage delivery commitments for long-lead items, including switchgear, transformers, and cooling equipment; track milestones and address risks before they affect production. Select and qualify suppliers based on capability, capacity, quality, delivery, financial risk, and total cost. Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, supply agreements, and measurable service requirements. Establish consistent supplier onboarding, sourcing, approval, contract, and purchase order practices. Identify supply risks early and drive recovery plans with accountable owners and confirmed dates. Develop qualified alternate sources where practical and approved. Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on specifications, supplier qualification, substitutions, and corrective actions. Establish supplier scorecards and quarterly business reviews; track commitments through completion. Validate savings and cost avoidance with Finance. Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, lead-time, and purchase order information in procurement systems. Lead the sourcing and commercial framework for direct-material consumables vendor-managed inventory programs, with Logistics and Warehousing owning site execution. Develop the procurement team and recommend staffing, systems, and process improvements as the business grows. Report supplier performance, supply risks, cost results, and required decisions to the VP of Supply Chain. Supplier Accountability and Manufacturing Support Supplier performance must support actual manufacturing requirements. The Director must work closely with Production and Capacity Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Logistics and Warehousing to align supplier commitments with production schedules. Supplier problems must have an owner, an action plan, and a resolution date.
