The City of Steamboat Spring's Finance Department is hiring a Procurement Coordinator to join their team!
Pay Range: $29.24 - $42.39
GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs paraprofessional and complex administrative and technical work in the administration of procurement and contracting.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Senior Procurement Agent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as an ambassador of the City of Steamboat Springs and upholds City values of Service, Teamwork, Integrity, Well-being, Respect and Compassion, while espousing safety at all times.
Purchasing and Contracting
Develops procedures for contract administration; recommends and implements improvements in processes. Ensures City staff follows established procedures.
Collaborates across departments to resolve issues, deliver training and enhance Procurement processes.
Coordinates the procurement process for city-wide contracts. Recommends and implements programs to reduce cost and improve service for commodities and services utilized citywide.
Ensures that divisional workflow and processes are properly administered, develops and implements more effective procedures as necessary.
Oversees the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Procurement workstream within ERP system (Workday), including integration with legacy systems.
Works directly with suppliers to complete contract execution and ensure insurance compliance.
Prepares a variety of reports and related information for decision-making purposes; conducts research, analysis, and prepares recommendations.
Coordinates the purchase order process through the approval, inputting and maintenance process.
Oversees the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the digital filing systems for contracts, amendments and purchase orders, in collaboration with the Records Management Administrator.
Assists with the RFP and Bid processes.
General Departmental Duties
Composes and types correspondence that may be complex and/or confidential.
Assures sound fiscal control and may assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
Prepares a variety of reports and related information for decision-making purposes; conducts research, analysis, and prepares recommendations.
Provides administrative support to supervisor in all areas of departmental functions.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, and
One (1) to Three (3) years of related experience, or
Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis.
Proficiency in computer applications (Workday, Caselle, Microsoft Office Suite {Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook}, and Adobe Acrobat Pro)
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to analyze complex proposals and contracts; ability to support efficient and effective risk management systems and procedures.
Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize competing deadlines and projects.
Working knowledge of the principles and practices of modern office administration; working knowledge of modern records management techniques; skill in operation of listed tools and equipment
Ability to work independently and carry out assigned projects to their completion; ability to accurately record and maintain records.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials and the public; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Personal computer, including spreadsheet and word processing software; telephone; 10-key calculator; typewriter; copy and fax machine.

$29.24 - $42.39Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
Merit:
This role is eligible for merit within our pay-for-performance philosophy via our annual performance review process. Hires after September 1st will take the next year's compensation data into account but would not be eligible for merit until the following year.
