Job Description The State printing unit is seeking a highly skilled Print Operations Supervisor (Public Service Supervisor) to oversee daily operations across the state’s printing, duplication, bindery, and lettershop facilities. This role is one of two dual supervisors responsible for managing end-to-end production workflows, maintaining operational coverage across assigned shifts, and ensuring the timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of state documents, forms, publications, and marketing materials. The Print Operations Supervisor directs daily production on digital presses, offset printers, large-format equipment, bindery systems, and lettershop machinery while leading and evaluating a multidisciplinary production staff. The position serves as the operational lead for workflow planning, equipment maintenance, supply inventory management, and state procurement compliance, while actively identifying opportunities for process automation and technology modernization. Key duties include: Directing daily production schedules and short- and long-term workflow planning across print, bindery, and lettershop machinery Supervising, mentoring, scheduling, and evaluating production, bindery, lettershop, and support staff Monitoring production quality, turnaround times, material waste, and operating costs to drive continuous improvement Managing equipment preventative maintenance schedules, emergency repairs, and inventory purchasing in accordance with state procurement rules Ensuring all operations comply with state quality, environmental, and workplace safety requirements The ideal candidate excels in Print and lettershop equipment operations Workflow planning and production scheduling Team supervision and staff development Inventory management and public procurement compliance Why Join DAS?
