Gold & Precious Metals Buyer / Customer Service Associate Chattanooga Gold Buyers is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team. This position involves assisting customers who are selling gold, silver, jewelry, coins, bullion, and other precious-metal items. Experience with precious metals is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person who is honest, professional, comfortable working with numbers, and eager to learn. Responsibilities Welcome customers and provide a comfortable, respectful experience Examine and test gold, silver, jewelry, coins, and bullion Clearly explain the testing and evaluation process to customers Calculate values and make purchase offers Negotiate purchases professionally and without pressure Accurately handle cash and customer transactions Maintain detailed purchase records and required documentation Follow all company procedures and applicable regulations Keep the store clean, organized, and professional Answer phone calls and respond to customer questions Assist with social media, promotions, and community outreach when needed Continue learning about precious metals, jewelry, coins, and market values Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old At least one year of customer service experience preferred but not required Strong communication and people skills Honest, dependable, and professional Comfortable working with numbers and handling cash Basic computer skills Strong attention to detail Able to maintain customer confidentiality Willing to learn precious-metal testing and negotiation techniques Able to work independently and as part of a team Saturday availability is preferred Compensation Starting at $15 per hour or higher , depending on experience Schedule Monday through Saturday availability is preferred. Specific hours and full-time or part-time scheduling will be discussed during the interview.
