Powersports Parts Manager

Cycle Works West is looking for an experienced Powersports Parts Manager to lead our parts department, optimize inventory, drive departmental performance, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands the importance of inventory management, efficient parts operations, team development, and building strong relationships with customers, technicians, and suppliers. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management Oversee inventory levels to ensure the right parts, accessories, and apparel are available when needed. Maintain accurate inventory records and implement effective inventory control processes. Monitor inventory turnover, identify obsolete or slow-moving stock, and minimize unnecessary inventory investment. Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies. Develop strategies to maximize parts department profitability and availability. Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing parts team focused on customer service, productivity, and profitability. Establish clear expectations, goals, and performance standards. Create a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment. Train team members on systems, processes, product knowledge, and sales opportunities. Monitor departmental performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Parts Ordering & Order Management Manage daily parts ordering, including stock orders, special orders, and emergency orders. Review and book incoming orders accurately and efficiently. Track outstanding orders and communicate updates to customers and service technicians. Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and vendor representatives. Ensure parts are received, checked, organized, and processed promptly. Coordinate with the service department to ensure technicians have the parts required to complete jobs efficiently. Dealer Shows, Events & Promotions Plan, coordinate, and participate in dealer shows, customer appreciation events, and dealership promotions. Organize parts, accessories, and apparel displays for events and sales opportunities. Identify opportunities to promote products, increase sales, and strengthen customer relationships. Work with the dealership team to create engaging experiences that support dealership growth. Department Operations & Profitability Monitor sales, margins, inventory performance, and other key departmental metrics. Identify opportunities to grow parts and accessory sales. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional parts department. Collaborate with sales, service, and management to support overall dealership objectives. Deliver outstanding customer service to retail customers and internal departments. Qualifications & Experience Previous parts department experience, preferably in the powersports, automotive, marine, or recreational vehicle industry. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Strong understanding of inventory management and stock control. Experience with parts ordering, receiving, and order booking processes. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities. Comfortable working with dealership management systems and inventory software. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, seasonal business. A passion for motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, snowmobiles, or other powersports products is an asset.
