We have an immediate career opportunity for a qualified GSE Maintenance A3 Technician at our Erlanger, KY hub (CVG airport). As an A3 GSE Mechanic, you will provide a variety of services to include performing preventative maintenance on ground support equipment, preforming daily scheduled work, as well as work that needs immediate attention due to the needs of the operation. Position Summary The Powered GSE Technician is responsible for performing high-quality preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and complex repairs on a diverse fleet of motorized and electrical airport ground support equipment . This includes diesel, gasoline, hybrid, and fully electric machinery used in daily airfield operations. The primary objective is to maximize equipment uptime, ensure strict compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards, and maintain a safe operating environment on the ramp. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults on motorized GSE. Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled PM services (oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks) according to manufacturer specifications. System Overhauls: Rebuild engine components, transmissions, brake assemblies, and advanced hydraulic systems. Electrical Systems: Read schematics to diagnose 12V/24V DC systems, electronic control modules (ECMs), and high-voltage electric vehicle (EV) powertrains. Safety Compliance: Conduct structural inspections and weld/fabricate components to ensure equipment meets OSHA and airport safety mandates. Documentation: Maintain precise digital logs of all repairs, parts used, labor hours, and warranty data in the fleet management system. Ramp Support: Respond rapidly to on-airfield equipment breakdowns to minimize flight delays and maintain gate efficiency. Equipment Covered Pushback tractors and aircraft tugs Snow removal equipment Belt loaders and container loaders (K-loaders) Ground Power Units (GPUs) and Air Start Units (ASUs) Vans, Pickups Required Qualifications Experience: Preferred 2–4 years of experience as a heavy equipment, automotive, diesel, or GSE mechanic. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or military equivalent. Certifications: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Clearance: Ability to pass a 10-year check to obtain airport SIDA badging and US Customs clearance. Technical Skills: Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools, digital multimeters, and reading complex technical schematics.
