Experienced Port Dispatcher – Drayage Operations Company: LICO Transport LLC Location: 78 John Miller Way, Suite 448, Kearny, NJ 07032 Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year (based on experience) Job Description LICO Transport LLC is seeking an experienced Port Dispatcher to join our transportation operations team in Kearny, New Jersey. We specialize in container drayage operations throughout the Port of New York and New Jersey. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of port terminals, container logistics, driver coordination, and efficient fleet management. A minimum of 2 years of Port NY/NJ drayage dispatching experience is required. Key Responsibilities Dispatch and coordinate daily container pickups and deliveries throughout Port NY/NJ. Manage appointments at PNCT, APM Terminals, Maher, Port Liberty Bayonne, and Port Liberty New York. Coordinate company drivers and owner-operators. Monitor container availability, Last Free Days (LFD), demurrage, and detention. Schedule container pre-pulls, empty returns, and chassis movements. Track drivers and ensure timely deliveries. Communicate with customers, brokers, terminal operators, and drivers. Resolve port congestion, appointment issues, and operational delays. Monitor truck utilization and maximize daily driver productivity. Maintain accurate dispatch records and provide daily operational reports. Coordinate overweight, refrigerated, and hazardous-material shipments when applicable. Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in Port NY/NJ container drayage dispatching. Strong knowledge of Port NY/NJ terminal operations. Experience managing multiple trucks and drivers simultaneously. Familiarity with port appointment systems and container tracking. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with computers, Excel, and dispatch software. Experience with Samsara is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Annual Salary: $65,000–$75,000 Full-time, stable employment. Competitive compensation based on experience.
