Meyer CorporationJob Summary: Responsible for locating, picking, counting, loading, unloading, and staging merchandise. Essential Job Duties: Locate, pick, unload, and label merchandise. Load and unload merchandise. Consolidate merchandise of the same SKU periodically to create space for new items and maximize use of the warehouse. Report any damaged merchandise to the DC Lead for inventory adjustment. Understand the effect of inventory transactions and the location system of the Distribution Center. Ensure that the warehouse and sortation systems are kept clean and organized. Ensure equipment is checked out for safety before operation and that the operator has a checklist to go through. Ensure that all material handling equipment is maintained in a user-ready condition. Assist with periodic inventory counts and recounts as needed. Fully understand all operations of the RF Scanners. Pick, move and load/unload merchandise utilizing a forklift. Perform all other related duties as directed by the DC Lead. Minimum Qualifications: Requires prior experience in a warehouse environment. High school diploma or GED certificate is highly preferred. Must be able to read and understand instructions in English. Must be able to perform tasks in a safe manner. Must possess basic Mathematics skills. Must possess organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able to communicate effectively in English in both verbal and written formats. Must be able to interface with other Meyer employees. Must possess mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform job duties. Must be capable of being forklift certified. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work is performed primarily at the warehouse. Lighting is artificial. Equipment used includes standard office equipment i.e. computer and telephone; and standard safety equipment I.e. forklift and scooter; and automated sortation system. Individual will have some exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold and fumes. Physical demands include walking, standing, bending over, crouching, balancing, pushing, and pulling, repetitive use of both hands, grasping, lifting up to 50 lbs., driving cars, trucks, forklifts and other equipment, and being around other work equipment and machinery; and occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, and kneeling. Distribution Center Hours are primarily seven days per week / 24 hours per day with various shifts and some overtime required.
