We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support our pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong communication skills, basic computer proficiency, the ability to meet daily deadlines, and a willingness to identify and resolve discrepancies. Candidates must be able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with pharmacists, pharmacy staff, vendors, carriers, and other team members. Position Summary The Pharmacy Shipping & Receiving Clerk supports daily pharmacy shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics operations. This position is responsible for helping ensure that incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately, securely, and efficiently while maintaining appropriate documentation and supporting the overall day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This position may also assist with basic patient intake and shipping-related customer service as operational needs require. Essential Responsibilities Orders, tracks, receives, and organizes pharmacy supplies, materials, and equipment. Receives incoming deliveries and assists with unloading shipments as needed. Processes incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently. Verifies that the correct products and packages are shipped to the correct addresses. Reviews shipping documentation, freight records, log sheets, and related records for accuracy. Maintains accurate and organized shipping and receiving files. Inspects incoming shipments for damage, missing items, discrepancies, or other concerns. Documents shipment discrepancies and communicates with carriers, vendors, or appropriate pharmacy personnel to assist with resolution. Immediately reports significant shipment concerns or discrepancies to the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) or appropriate management personnel. Communicates professionally with vendors and shipping carriers regarding deliveries, shipment status, discrepancies, and related issues. Distributes received supplies and materials to the appropriate department or staff member. Separates stock and non-stock items during the receiving process and ensures items are placed in their appropriate storage locations. Rotates applicable inventory according to expiration dates to reduce product deterioration, waste, or expiration. Assists with the processing of products or merchandise being returned for credit, replacement, or repair. Inspects products, shipments, and supporting documentation to ensure information is complete and accurate. Performs clerical and administrative duties associated with shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics. May assist with the pre-intake of patient information in accordance with company procedures and HIPAA requirements. Responds to basic patient questions concerning shipment status and delivery information within the scope of the position. Supports high-volume inbound and outbound shipping operations while maintaining accuracy and effective communication. Processes shipments through approved carrier systems and secure shipping portals, including FedEx, UPS, and USPS. Meets established daily production and shipping goals while maintaining accuracy and quality standards. Handles temperature-sensitive items appropriately upon receipt. Completes and maintains required temperature logs and related documentation. Complies with company security procedures, HIPAA requirements, confidentiality expectations, quality assurance standards, and applicable pharmacy procedures.
