Position Summary RBCI is seeking a Pharmacy Equipment Specialist to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, and sustainment of pharmacy automation, medication dispensing, medication storage, and pharmacy information systems within military healthcare environments. The specialist will serve as a liaison between pharmacy staff, vendors, biomedical personnel, and facility stakeholders to ensure pharmacy equipment remains operational, compliant, and available to support patient care. The ideal candidate possesses pharmacy operations experience and hands-on knowledge of automated dispensing systems, medication storage systems, packaging and counting technologies, inventory management solutions, and pharmacy informatics platforms. This position supports the Fort Detrick, MD location and is hybrid. (Military Veterans are highly encouraged to apply) Duties & Responsibilities Support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and sustainment of pharmacy automation, medication dispensing, medication storage, and pharmacy information systems. Provide technical and functional support for automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), medication dispensing systems, narcotic control systems, pharmacy workstations, inventory management solutions, and packaging/counting technologies. Coordinate equipment installation, relocation, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and vendor service activities. Assist pharmacy staff with equipment operation, workflow optimization, and issue resolution. Perform routine inspections, operational checks, and troubleshooting of pharmacy equipment, software, and integrated systems. Track equipment status and support lifecycle management, inventory accountability, technology refresh, and replacement planning. Coordinate with pharmacy personnel, biomedical engineering, information technology, and vendors to resolve equipment and connectivity issues. Support validation and testing activities following equipment upgrades, software updates, or configuration changes. Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare, pharmacy, and organizational policies and procedures. Support user training, technical documentation, reporting, and performance metrics related to pharmacy equipment operations. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
