Parts Delivery Driver

Position Information: The Parts Driver delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership, as well as collects payment on deliveries. Duties and Responsibilities Delivers parts, equipment and supplies to wholesale customers, satellite stores and vendors. Pick up parts, equipment and supplies from wholesale customers, satellite stores, and vendors, to be coordinated with the Shipping Supervisor, Dispatcher, Parts Manager, Parts Salespeople, or Shipping and Receiving Clerk before leaving and during deliveries/pickups. Complete a log at the time of delivery and request recipient’s signature, payment, and provide a “Customer Copy” of invoices upon delivery. Unload vehicle each night. Turn in all paperwork, payments, and undelivered parts to the appropriate employee and/or location. Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department. Ensure the inside and outside of vehicle(s) is/are washed weekly. Be responsible for the basic upkeep of the vehicle (i.e., check the oil at each refueling) Operate forklift. Solicit parts business from assigned accounts through personal contact. Communicate customer issues and orders to Parts Salespeople and/or Parts Manager. Advise Parts Salespeople and/or Parts Manager of changes in customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. Ensure payment is collected at time of delivery, or other means confirmed and approved by the responsible Parts Salesperson and/or Parts Manager. Verify that all payments made by check meet criteria established and described by the Parts Manager and/or Accounting Clerk. Count, weigh, or measure items on delivery and verify information against invoices and/or packing slips. Pull purchased parts from stock. Be friendly, professional and efficient when working with all customers and dealership employees. Maintain a professional appearance, following established dress code, uniform requirements, or other personal appearance requirements. Assist Shipping and Receiving Clerk, Shipping Supervisor, Parts Manager, and Parts Salespeople with stock replenishment, pulling items from stock, or other tasks. Is available to work various days of the week, including weekends, should scheduling require it. Working Conditions: This is a physically demanding position. Will drive a company-provided vehicle six to eight hours per shift. Will lift parts, equipment and supplies weighing up to 70 pounds several times a day. Will transport parts, equipment and supplies weighing up to 1,000 pounds. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
